From a young age our energy tots and kinder-gym athletes learn to move & rotate safely, jump and land safely. It is a perfect start to confidence building. We offer programs for all ages including mixed, men’s, women’s, adult and parent and tot. Come in for a drop-in session to see what we’re all about.

Recreational Programs

Whether you are a beginner, or returning gymnast looking for fun and fitness offered in our recreational gymnastics programs, Gymnastics Energy provides classes suitable for all ages and levels, including adult sessions and drop in gym times.

Recreational Programs

Parent n' Tot

NEW!  18 – 24 months: 30 minutes
2-3 years: 45 minutes

In this class, a parent or guardian accompanies their child. The class focuses on movement, body awareness, coordination and social interaction through games and activities created with modified gymnastics equipment.

Kindergym

Jr. Kinder:  3 – 4 years
Sr. Kinder:  4 – 5 years

NEW! Kinder Boys: 4 – 6 years
1 hour class

Children are introduced to gymnastics through circuits created with modified gymnastics equipment. The program encourages peer interaction, gross motor movement, fun and fitness. Children must be toilet trained and able to stay with the group.

Girls Recreational

Beginner: 6, 7, 8, 9 – 10, 11 – 12, 13 yrs +
Intermediate: 6 – 7, 8 – 9, 10 – 11, 12 yrs +
1.5 hours per class

In beginner, athletes are introduced to the world of gymnastics. Intermediate classes are designed for gymnasts who know the basics of gymnastics and want to progress further. Both programs explore the four artistic events for women: Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor; P-Bars, Pommel, and Rings for boys.

Boys Recreational

Beginner: 6, 7, 8, 9 – 10, 11 – 12, 13 yrs +
Intermediate: 8-11
1.5 hours per class

Trampoline

Kinder Bounce

4-5 years: 45 minutes

Children will learn the basics of trampoline,
including important safety guidelines. They will enjoy bouncing with us in a fun, controlled environment.

NEW! Beginner Tramp

7 years, 8 – 9 years: 1 hour

This is an introductory class to trampoline
foundations. Trampolines are used as teaching aids so that athletes are able to acquire tumbling skills.

NEW! Intermediate Tramp

7-10 years: 1 hour

This is an introductory class to trampoline
foundations. Trampolines are used as teaching aids so that athletes are able to acquire tumbling skills.

Tumbling

Beginner Tumbling

6- 9 years, 10 – 12 years: 1 hour

Young athletes can improve their tumbling skills in a fun, energetic environment. This is a great class for cheerleaders, dancers and gymnasts!

NEW! Intermediate Tumbling

10+ years: 1 hour

In this class, athletes will learn new skills, form
and techniques. This is recommended for
athletes with background in basic tumbling or
acro.

Other

 

Drop-In Classes

1-5 years, 6-15 years, 16+ years: 1.5 hours

This is a supervised but unstructured class, which allows athletes to use equipment at their own pace and leisure. Keep in mind, there may be other classes in the gym so all equipment may not be available at all times. 

Rhythmic

7-10 years: 1.5 hours

Rhythmic gymnastics uses ribbons, hoops, balls, ropes, and clubs to combine artistry with athleticism. This is a fantastic option for athletes that enjoy dance and who possess grace and flexibility.

Ninja

4-5 years:  45 minutes
6-10 years, 11+ years:  1 hour

Athletes will attempt obstacles, racing challendes and test their strength, agility and coordination. This class brings together fun and fitness.

Meet our Recreational Program Director, Brooke Macaulay

Brooke began her gymnastics career in Hamilton training and competing in women’s artistic gymnastics with the Hamilton Wentworth Regionettes.

Prior to joining Gymnastics Energy, Brooke spent 5 years coaching WAG at Aspire Gymnastics.  Energy is lucky to have Brooke, she is well loved by her athletes and peers. She builds strong relationships with her athletes by providing direct and honest feedback. She also is a great support to her fellow coaches and adds great energy to the gym.

In 2019, Brooke also stepped into the role of Recreational Program Manager. She is a great resource and always happy to answer any questions you may have!
